About Dr. Jason Bailey

What I have come to appreciate from my experience both as a physician and as a human being is that virtually all mental suffering and distress is intimately related to a loss of connection to who we are on the most fundamental level. In mental illness, we lose track of ourselves at some point along the way and become disconnected from our own deeper essence and sense of who we are. My intent in psychotherapy is to help those I work with to start to reconnect with themselves and to begin to experience a richer and more fulfilling life.
I have trained in several therapeutic modalities, all of which help me to foster an eclectic, sensitive approach that is closely attuned to the individual needs of each client in any given session. These modalities include: mindfulness and compassion-based approaches, Buddhist psychology, Brainspotting, yoga, parts work, as well as body based approaches rooted in loving presence. A significant focus of my work relates to how we might better integrate the wisdom and insight of the healing teachings of the East with the Western medical model of human illness. Deeply, I feel there is much that the intuitive / holistic approach of the East can offer to the rational / scientific approach of the West in order to help people come to know what true and real embodied wellness means for them. In my work as a psychotherapist, I hope to draw from all of these different aspects of my experience and training to help each of my clients.
